Grand Canyon tours from Las Vegas

Important things to know

1. The South Rim is way better than the West Rim.  The South Rim has the incredible, iconic views you've seen in the pictures.  The West Rim is not nearly as impressive, but it's closer to Vegas, which means that's where the helicopters go (they don't go to the South Rim from Vegas), and bus tours to the West Rim are cheaper than to the South.  If you're taking the time and expense to see the Grand Canyon, I strongly suggest you go to the South Rim.
    
2. The Skywalk at the West Rim has mostly negative reviews.
   
   
3. There are only three real helicopter companies:  Papillon, Maverick, and 5 Star.  Anyone else selling helicopter tours from Vegas is just a reseller for one of those.

5. Guides expect tips (5-20%).

Bus tours to the Grand Canyon

Bus tours are 10.5-15 hours, from the time you leave your hotel to the time you return to it.  You get 1/2 hour to 3 hours at the GC, depending on the tour.  Travel time to 4.5 hours to the South Rim and 2.5 hours to the West Rim (one way).  The cheaper tours tend to be huge buses and the more expensive tours tend to be smaller groups.

Helicopter tours of Grand Canyon (West Rim)

All helicopters go to the West Rim because it's closer, but the South Rim is the one with the iconic views you've seen in the pictures.  If you're taking the time and expense to see the Grand Canyon, I strongly recommend you see the South Rim.

Hoover Dam and Lake Mead are on the way, so all the helicopter tours go over those.
